So my family and I went to Scipio Utah for some what of a family reuion for Memorial Day weekend. It was so much fun. We were hoping more people would have showed up but we all think they chickened out because of the weather. Which by the way was not that bad. Yes it was cold and it rained, but only at nights. However I think the most important family members were there. The ones that showed up were my mom, my dad, my brother Kody, my brother Josh with his wife Anna and their daughter Brianna. And then also my uncle Jeff, Aunt Colleen, Cousins Dj and Justin, Justin's girlfriend Katy and my second cousin Lexey. Then also my grandma Rosalie , grandpa Nick and Uncle Bill. We had such a great time all getting together and just hanging out in good old Maple Grove. When I was younger we use to go camping there all the time. It was a 13 hour drive for us to get there but once we get there we dont ever want to leave.
We did lots of fishing while we were there and fried it up the last night for dinner. I am not a big fan of sea food but my dad always says you catch it, you clean it, you cook it, you eat it. So I gave it a shot. The first couple of days we were having a hard time catching the fish and when we would we would just get the babies that we had to release them if possible. I however was the first one to catch the fish.
We also did some hiking while we were up there. I found out for the first time this weekend that my great grandfather helped build the camp site. And I must say it is so beauitful up there. My dad went on a long hike with my cousins and uncle up to a point on the moutain called the Eye. He said it was not that bad and he wished I would have gone with him. I am sure next year I will give it a go.
